Trying to remember and make new.

The sun had just settled. I enjoy the cool air. I still had no lapis to protect me, but it didn't mean I could have a social life. I dressed in my tight motorcycle outfit, black leather pants and leather jacket with the Italian Salvatore family crest on the pocket of the jacket over my heart.

I pulled up to my destination and placed my bike on the kickstand. I took my helmet off and hung it on the handle where the brake was. I pulled out a piece of paper with Matt Donavan's name on the top. I had typed information about State and local things around it for the team and cheer squad.

I walked up to the house and knocked on the door. Caroline had told Matt I was turned, hopefully, so I hope he knows to invite me in. I couldn't remember ever talking to Matt, let alone even what happened ten minutes before
my car rolled over. I smiled invade he opened and I would be lost in thought.

I was sitting in the living room watching some college football highlights on ESPN when I heard the knock on the door. I wasn't aware of anyone coming over tonight, but maybe it was Andrew, who knows?
As I got up I peeked through the window to see it wasn't him, but a girl, whose face I couldn't see. I unlocked the door and then opened it to find Elizabeth Salvatore. I hadn't seen her around since she had been turned, which made me wonder why she was here of all places. "Hey Elizabeth, what uh, brings you here?"

I looked up and saw Matt. I held out the packet of paper. "Hey Matt. I was just dropping off information about state. Hotels, attractions, restaurants, all that stuff." he looked like he was kinda busy. I didn't want to intrude. "Sorry if I was interrupting something."

"Oh cool, thanks." I reached out and took the packet from her. "No, don't worry about it. How have you been?." I asked her. I know it couldn't have been easy these past few weeks for her. I was surprised she was still getting things ready for State. "You uh, want to come in?" I held the door open for her.

"No problem. There's nothing to do since..... Never mind." I was about to tell him good night and leave, but he invited me in. This was something I would have to get used to. I walked in. "Thanks, I've been better and I may have been worse. I can't really remember anything past Saturday, which is unusual. Usually when someone turns they get their memory within twenty-four hours." I unzipped my jacket exposing my black tank top.

I remembered that he didn't have a lot of money. I wasn't surprised about the way the living room looked. "How are you Orginial vampire slayer?" I asked commenting on him killing Finn.

I closed the door behind her after she walked in. She seemed kind of lost, and then I understood why. "I'm sorry Elizabeth. I know all of this can't be easy for you. Is it at least getting any easier?" I asked her. I thought about offering her something to drink, but that may have come off the wrong way.
I grinned hearing the comment. "Surprisingly I'm good. I'm still alive and no one's tried to kill me, so I guess that's all I could ask for"

I looked back at him. "It's not your fault Matt. Unless your a vampire who fed me your blood before I died, which your not." I smiled at him. He was always trying to apologize for things he didn't cause. He deserved something. I walked over to him, but only half way. The last time I hugged a human, he almost died. "I think your in the clear since everyone who knows is either dead or on our side."

"Yeah I must be, at least for now. I'm sure I'll get dragged into something else, but what can you do." I said to her half grinning and shrugging it off. I pointed towards the couch, "You want to stick around and chill for awhile? We don't have to watch football." I didn't want her to feel like now that she was a vampire she couldn't enjoy the normal things in life. I tried to find the remote so I could change the channel, and found it at the end of the couch. I held it out to her while I took a seat on the couch.
