Getting to know the town(Open)

I sat at the bar watching the townspeople talk with one another. There wasn't anything going on but I decided to hang out here for the day to get a feel for the town. I only been here once with Galvin but yea and Kol has kept me cooped up at the Mansion. I needed to do something fun and get out of the house. I took a swig of my glass and tried to find something interesting to do or someon interesting to talk to.

I walked into the Grill and sat at the bar next to a girl she didn't know and ordered a drink "Can I have a Coke please". I took my coke and had a drink. I turned to the girl next to me "Hi, I'm Charlotte"

I was getting ready to leave the Grill when I couldn't find anything to do but a red head girl came and sat down ordering a coke and introduced herself. "Selene, nice to meet you." I said.

"Nice to meet you too" I said. "How are you?" I asked looking around the Grill. I took a sip of my drink and waited for a reply.

"I'm good just...bored." I told her. I knew she was a stranger but I mean come on, what could she do to me? Plus honesty is something I live by. "How are you?" I asked.

"Im good thanks" I was bored too, being new i didn't know what to do with all my spare time.

"You new to town?" I asked. It would be kind of nice too meet someone who was new like me and I was kinda desperate for a friend.

"Yeah" I answered. "How long have you been living here for?" I asked as I looked around, the Grill was still busy and noisy too.

"Uh about a few weeks, almost a month." I told her. "I've kinda been on a search for my mother." I said. I knew to keep my mouth shut about being a vampire but I could still talk about things.

"Cool" I said. "Do you know she's here?" I asked. I had only been here a week, maybe two, so I didn't know much about anyone.

"Well she was here but she kinda couldn't handle seeing her daughter so she went on a vacation. Shes back though." I told her. I hadn't talked with my mother though since she got back.

"Have you seen her?" I asked. I haven't seen my mum in about two weeks, I missed her at the start, but I don't mind now" I said smiling.

"No not yet, shes been dealing with other things." I smiled back. "You moved here by yourself?" I asked surprised. Wonder what her story is.

"Okay" I said. "I came here to live with my gran" I said quietly. Obviously because no one knew me, no one knew my story, but right now I felt I could share anything with a good friend.

"Where'd you move from?" I asked. I was glad we were actually starting to have a conversation because Charlotte was nice to talk to.

"California" I said. "Where did you live before coming here?" I asked her. I thought of Selene as a friend, we had only just met but she seemed really nice.

"New York." I told her. "I like all the art and stuff there and how its always awake." I smiled. I liked big citys on and off, just depends what city.

"Cool" I said. "I'v never been to New York. The city that never sleeps." I said laughing. I wouldn't like to live in New York, only because I thought California was to loud NY was probably even busier and louder.

"Very true." I smiled. That was one of the good things about being a vampire in New York, you could be up at night and no one would think nothing of it. "What made you move to Mystic Falls?" I asked.

"Well my dad died and I didn't like staying there anymore, to many bad memories." I said quietly. My dad and my best friend Alicia died in the same shooting in the bank, I got depressed and just couldn't bare to be there.

"Oh hey I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring up anything bad." I told her. I felt like an idiot now. Good way to make friends Selene.

"No, its fine honestly." I said. It felt weird talking about it, I hadn't spoke about my dad in a while.

I looked down playing with my hands. "Is your mom still alive?" I asked. It sucks to lose your parents, I would know.

"Yeah she's still in California, I came here to live with my gran." I said telling someone I had only just met my life story. I didn't mind though, Selene was really nice and I hoped we would be good friends.

"Thats cool. I didn't have anyone to come live her with when I arrived but I found an old boyfriend so it worked out." I told her. I didn't feel like I should watch what I had to say around Charloette, she was easy to talk to.
